Thames & Kosmos Mega Cyborg Hydro Blaster

No confirmed recall for this toy.
We check it against CPSC recalls every night; our recall list runs through September 24, 2026. Possible matches are reviewed by a person before anything shows here. Always check the model number on the box at cpsc.gov/Recalls.
Why we picked it
A water blaster you build first and wear on your arm, then rebuild into other forms: a gripper claw, a shield, a sword, a crossbow and a boomerang, five in all, from 180-plus pieces. One trigger fires a stream up to about 20 feet from a hydraulic piston; the other works the claw. It is a construction kit that ends in a summer toy, which is a good trade for a child who thinks kits are homework.
Why it made our list: it combines building with running around, the rebuilding keeps it interesting past the first weekend, and it was a 2025 Toy of the Year finalist in the outdoor category.
Before you buy: the age grade is 8 and up. It is pump and piston powered, with no motors, batteries or electricity. Check the arm-strap fit if your child is on the small side for the age band. Like all water blasters, house rules about faces apply.
Before you buy
- Check the age grade on the box; it can differ from ours.
- If younger children share the room, check for small parts.
- Look up the model number at cpsc.gov/Recalls before first use.
