Why we picked it
A Technic model of the Earth and Moon going round the Sun. Turn the crank and the Earth spins on its axis while the Moon circles it and both travel round the Sun; a ring of months and a ring of moon phases on the frame track the year. It is a build with gears and a working mechanism, and when it is done it sits on a shelf and explains something.
Why it made our list: ten-year-olds want builds that do something, this one teaches how a year and a month work while it does it, and it was a 2025 Toy of the Year finalist in the educational category. Released in March 2024, so it has real reviews.
