Why we picked it
A rechargeable blaster that shoots coloured bubbles, then switches to a water stream. One trigger blasts bubbles; the other turns them into target practice. Two backyard afternoons in one toy, and the box includes two colour bubble liquids and four clear ones.
Why it made our list: outdoor toys at this age need to be simple and robust, and this is both; it works for a group of kids; and the Toy Association named it 2025 Toy of the Year in the outdoor category.
Before you buy: the age grade is 6 and up. It has a rechargeable lithium battery with a USB charger, so no batteries to replace. The maker says the coloured bubbles are non-toxic and wash off; we would still keep it away from light-coloured patio furniture and clothes until you have seen it yourself. The coloured bubble liquid is a refill you will need more of.
Before you buy
- Check the age grade on the box; it can differ from ours.
- If younger children share the room, check for small parts.
- Look up the model number at cpsc.gov/Recalls before first use.
