No confirmed recall for this toy.

We check it against CPSC recalls every night; our recall list runs through September 24, 2026. Possible matches are reviewed by a person before anything shows here. Always check the model number on the box at cpsc.gov/Recalls.

Why we picked it

Binoculars built for a preschooler's face. The eyepieces are oversized and there is nothing to focus, so a three-year-old can actually use them, on a walk, at the window, in the garden. The magnification is only 2x; the point is not seeing far, it is having binoculars that work in small hands.

Why it made our list: children this age want to do what you do, and real binoculars frustrate them. These turn a walk into a hunt for birds and squirrels, and Oppenheim Toy Portfolio gave them a 2025 Platinum Award.

Before you buy: the maker's age grade is 3 and up; the Amazon listing says 4 to 8. No batteries. The neck strap is a breakaway strap, which is what you want on any toy a small child wears around the neck. Make sure the listing is the "Jr." model, not Kidnoculars Extreme, which is a different product for older children.

Before you buy

  • Check the age grade on the box; it can differ from ours.
  • If younger children share the room, check for small parts.
  • Look up the model number at cpsc.gov/Recalls before first use.
